ZOMG Major journal update from me.

Well I have a good excuse. I've been doing the same stuff for the past few months. Eat, sleep and talk to friends. Oh, and play games, in true Noa behavior. So things are busy at the moment for the holidays (8 weeks, YAY) and I figured I'd show that I'm not dead (at least not on DA )

As said, I'm finishing up the year. I have to complete a few things required by my school (except exams, I've finished them already) and its been busy, but I'm coping. I'll be gone for Christmas (probably). Don't start crying just yet, I'll be back soon :3 I'll be around to wish you guys a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/whatever you celebrate. And I'll possibly get you presents. >__> (Prolly not, don't get your hopes up xD)

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I wish to divert your attention to my dear country Australia.

Well, you know where I'm going with this. Lately, we (as in the gaming community) has been fed a big chunk of fail by the government once again. Our distinguished Michael Atkinson representing the state of South Australia at the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification) has attempted to attain 'Moral Crusader' status, but instead gained 'Big Wanker' status by getting an anticipated game, Left 4 Dead 2, censored (originally banned) in Australia. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, L4D2 is your classic zombie survival horror game. Just google it and have a look if you're curious.

Aside from the gore being toned down A LOT (no blood, disappearing bodies, no dismemberment), the Riot Cop (an Uncommon Common Infected immume to gunshots) has been omitted from Australian and German versions.

Now why, in the holy mother of god, did this happen? The answer: 'Violence against authority figures'.

ASKFHJDFLHLFDSF! What the hell about Grand Theft Auto and other games ya knob?! You let those through!

So, now that we don't have the Riot Cop, this would cause other players that have the uncensored version to not have the Riot Cop as well when we play with them. Cue massive rage and banning Australian and German players because of that reason.

Simple workaround though - import it. I've ordered a uncensored version and it should be here soon. All is good for me. I still couldn't help myself making a rant though. And I sympathise with other gamers here who are probably forced to buy the censored version. This just proves how fail the government is. Hell, Fallout 3 almost got banned here because of the drug references (Morphine had to get renamed to Med-X WOW NOW I TOTALLY CAN'T TELL IT'S MORPHINE ASIDE FROM THE DESCRIPTION). Never mind that graphic gore and the Bloody Mess perk which causes your victims to explode into a million pieces whenever defeated (complete with rivers of blood too, comparable to the death scenes in Nightmare on Elm St)
